Light in color and delicate in flavor, our Spring Honey captures the fresh sweetness of the season. Gathered by honeybees from spring blossoms throughout the Old Grove and surrounding countryside, it offers gentle floral notes and a smooth, clean finish.

Raw, unfiltered, and bottled in small batches, each jar preserves the natural character of the hive—a golden taste of springtime to enjoy by the spoonful, stirred into tea, or drizzled over warm biscuits and toast.

Traditional Uses

For generations, honey has been valued as both a nourishing food and a comforting household staple. It has traditionally been stirred into warm tea, used to soothe an irritated throat, blended into seasonal remedies, and enjoyed as a natural sweetener.

Spring honey is especially prized for its pale golden color and mild floral flavor. Its delicate sweetness complements tea, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, biscuits, toast, dressings, and baked goods without overpowering their natural flavors.

What Research Tells Us

Honey contains naturally occurring sugars along with small amounts of organic acids, enzymes, minerals, and plant-derived phenolic compounds. The exact composition varies according to the flowers visited by the bees, the growing region, weather conditions, storage, and processing.

Peer-reviewed research suggests that honey may help relieve cough and other upper-respiratory symptoms, although the strength of the evidence varies among studies. Research has also identified antioxidant and antimicrobial activity associated with honey’s phenolic compounds, acidity, concentrated sugar content, and naturally produced hydrogen peroxide.

Clinical research has reported possible cardiometabolic benefits when honey replaces other refined sweeteners, but honey remains a source of added sugar and should be enjoyed in moderation.
